How to turn a topic into a comic

  1. Find a conflict. A topic is not a story. Think of a character facing a problem related to the topic.
  2. Show, don't tell. Instead of a caption saying “recycle”, show what happens when someone doesn't.
  3. A clear ending. The message should be clear in the last panel, without needing to explain it.

Finished your comic?

Publish it for free on historietas.app: you will get readers and comments, and you can share it with a link. Authors also take part in the monthly contests.

Frequently asked questions

The most requested at school are values, friendship, the environment, gender equality, legends and holidays like Christmas or Halloween. Free topics also work: animals, superheroes or science fiction.

Think of a character and a problem related to the topic. Write one sentence each for the beginning, middle and end, then split those parts across the panels.

Use it as a starting point: change the characters, the place and the ending to make the story your own.
