How to make a 12 panel comic

  1. Panels 1 to 3 · Setup. Characters, place and the problem that starts it all.
  2. Panels 4 to 8 · Rising action. The journey or the attempts, with ups and downs and new characters.
  3. Panels 9 to 11 · Climax. Everything is at stake; vary the shots for rhythm.
  4. Panel 12 · Resolution. The ending and, if you like, one last surprise.

With 12 panels you have a complete story. If the page feels crowded, split the panels into two pages of 6.
